China Economic & Trade Magazine Delegation Visits SOOCIA for Research on Africa Belt and Road Projects

2026-04-20

Recently, a pre-research delegation from the China Economic & Trade Magazine visited SOOCIA to conduct a focused study on cooperation opportunities and implementation capabilities for Belt and Road projects in Africa. Senior representatives from SOOCIA participated in the discussions.

During the visit, the delegation reviewed SOOCIA’s overseas-oriented product portfolio, technical architecture, and manufacturing capabilities, and toured the production facilities to gain a comprehensive understanding of its large-scale delivery capacity and quality control system.

In the subsequent meeting, SOOCIA presented its integrated smart metering solutions tailored to the needs of African power markets. Its products have obtained internationally recognized certifications, including STS, MID, DLMS, and KEMA, and support prepaid metering systems and mainstream utility communication protocols. These capabilities enable compliance with diverse regulatory, system integration, and operational requirements across different countries.

In addition, SOOCIA has developed end-to-end delivery capabilities, ranging from individual meters to system-level solutions, supporting various application scenarios such as metering upgrades, prepaid deployment, and AMI system implementation.

Leveraging nearly two decades of experience serving the Chinese national power grid, along with over ten years of localized operations in Southeast Asia (including utilities such as MEA and PEA in Thailand), SOOCIA has established a stable delivery system for international projects. This enables continuous supply and coordinated project execution, supporting the demands of large-scale infrastructure initiatives under the Belt and Road framework.

From an application perspective, SOOCIA’s solutions integrate transformer district management and data analytics to enable precise line loss analysis and abnormal consumption detection, helping utilities improve revenue stability and reduce technical and non-technical losses—key challenges in many African markets.

Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on market trends, project implementation pathways, and cooperation models in Africa. The delegation recognized SOOCIA’s mature technical framework and project experience in the smart metering sector, noting its readiness to participate in relevant infrastructure projects.

SOOCIA reaffirmed its commitment to expanding overseas markets and actively participating in power infrastructure development in Africa, promoting the deployment of advanced metering technologies and solutions.

This visit has laid a solid foundation for future collaboration, and both parties agreed to maintain close communication and explore concrete project opportunities.
