Zhejiang Songxia Electric Meter Co., Ltd. (SOOCIA), a smart meter manufacturer specializing in electricity metering and smart metering solutions, has officially achieved EU MID Module B + Module D certification for its DDS722 and DDS722D single-phase smart prepayment energy meters. The certificates were issued by TÜV Rheinland InterCert Kft.

The achievement confirms that SOOCIA’s single-phase smart meters have completed conformity assessment covering both EU-Type Examination and Production Quality Assurance, further strengthening the company’s product compliance framework for the European and international smart metering markets.

What Is MID Module B + D Certification?

The Measuring Instruments Directive (MID) is a key European regulatory framework governing measuring instruments and provides an important compliance basis for electricity meters placed on relevant European markets.

SOOCIA has completed the MID conformity assessment through Module B and Module D.

MID Module B (EU-Type Examination) evaluates the design and type conformity of the smart meter, while MID Module D (Production Quality Assurance) assesses the manufacturer’s production quality assurance system.

Together, Module B and Module D cover conformity assessment from the approved product type through production quality assurance, reflecting broader capabilities in smart meter development, manufacturing and quality management.
